sneak peak - baby bedding

I always thought I'd have a very modern nursery with clean straight lines and very geometric patterns and then, I got pregnant. Your taste buds and figure are not the only things that change once your knocked up.

I bought the fabric for my drapes at The Cotton Patch in Brookhaven (if you haven't been there you should go - but maybe take a xanax before hand) and I knew that they did baby bedding but wasn't too eager to venture their way again due to the very overwhelming feeling I had when I was sorting through their 8 million bolts of fabric. Then Marlee told me how reasonably priced they were in comparison to all the other custom places in town so I had to suck it up and go. THANK YOU MARLEE!

Ashlea and I ventured down there on Saturday morning and surprisingly had picked out the components in less time than it took us to travel there.

patterned fabric = inside and outside of bumper
brown swatch = gathered skirt and cording for bumper
cream ribbon = ties

Some of the scenes are strange, i.e. the weird looking deer like animal and the bunny in a boat, but for whatever reason it caught my eye and everything else I looked at after just didn't do it for me.

Mom aka Gamma is hard at work refinishing the crib, changing table, and dresser. I saw them on Saturday and they are well on their way to looking fabulous! Hopefully by the end of May the nursery will actually have something baby related in it.

Also, in other nursery related news. I am a fan of this DIY Blog and she had a contest where this blogger entered this crafty prayer wall that she did for her little girls room and I think I am going to replicate it, except with the "Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep" prayer and different paper patterns. It's super cute!!

Ok, I LOVE this. It's so different-which is WHY I love it. Simple and darling! I can't wait to see the finished project!
