Tubage and a few other things

We went to the for our tube consult with Dr. Clay yesterday at St. D. He said her ears were terrible and she needs the tubes sooner rather than later. I feel terrible that we've let it go on this long but the child gives no indication of having the darn things so how am I supposed to know? Anyhow, we'll have that done within a week or so. Please pray for sweet cheeks! They say the worst part is the going under and coming out of the anesthesia so pray for the smoothest transitions possible and that this mama can be strong for her sweet baby and not end up crying like a baby!!

AP is at a really funny stage right now. Here's what she's been up to lately...

  • learning to eat from a spoon. It's still a hot mess but she's getting better
  • semi sitting up on her own. It's really more like propping up but it's all the same. She'll put her hands on her knees or on the ground in front of her, otherwise she'll slowly lean forward until she face plants into whatever she's sitting on.
  • she loves standing up. that's all she wants to do.
  • she talks all the time. especially early in the morning when most people are sleeping.
  • She's started grabbing for Stella which Stella is not so happy about! She'll get a hold of that beard and hold on for dear life. Stella is not a fan. Last night AP was laying on a pallet and kicking around and babbling. Stella would just stare at her until AP would move, then Stella would jump around like AP was after her. AP loves it.
  • She has officially found her feet and holds onto them at all times. It's very convenient during diaper changes.
  • She LOVES a bath. She splashes around like a frog. She's also frightened herself after "making" her own bubbles, if you know what I mean. Her eyes get real big like "What was that?!"
  • We are working on getting her to sleep thru the night again. That stomach bug really threw us off but it's getting better each night. Last night she would fret and I would put her paci back in and lay my hand on her for a little bit and she relax and go back to sleep. I'm really going to rejoice the day she learns how to grab a paci and put it back in her mouth!!!
  • She's getting really grabby. earrings, hair, clothes, toys, etc. If it's tangible, she grabs it. and most of the time she's going to try and put it in her mouth.
  • drooling. it's serious. put her in new clothes and 5 minutes later she's soaking wet. Bibs are our new best friends.

She's so much fun and I can't imagine my life without her. Well, actually I can. It involves a lot more sleeping and being lazy and a clean house and less laundry but I like the chaos so I think we'll keep her! It's true what they say. You can never imagine how much you can possibly love one thing. Yea, you love your hubs, your mom and dad, your siblings, your dog. But babies change your whole heart and it's absolutely unbelievable.

Here are a few recent pictures. From my phone of course.

Playing ain't easy. That's a shadow, not a bruise or shaved hair design. God Bless her, she barely has enough hair to brush!

Sometimes she'd rather wear her food than eat it.

I don't call her sweet cheeks for nothing. She's such a sweet little thing!
