Realtor...not a good word to mention at 412 Mockingbird

We met with a realtor the other week about listing our house. The hubs is super big on finding someone who is willing to negotiate their commission. His theory is that with the way the market and economy are spiraling down the drain, any realtor would be crazy not to be negotiable. Anyhow, we meet with the realtor (who will remain anonymous) and she gives us her spill and talks about how cute the house is and how easy it should sell and how she already has a client that would love it. The hubs tells her that we'll talk over her proposal and get back with her the next day. She calls him several days later and he tells her that we haven't had a chance to sit down to discuss matters and that we'll call her back after the weekend. As he removes the phone from his ear he hears her saying something on the other end. He thinks she is still talking to him but quickly realizes that she is talking about him.

Realtor Rule # 1 - HANG UP YOUR DANG PHONE before calling a potential client "greedy "and calling what you previously said was a cute and easily saleable property a mere "cardboard box."

Obviously we would prefer to list with an agent who is comfortable putting their face and sign in the front yard of our cardboard box and since Anonymous Realtor doesn't seem to be, we'll be taking our business elsewhere. However, I would like to say that had Anonymous Realtor remembered how to work her phone properly and just talked about us behind our backs like any good politician or sales person does, we probably would have her sign in our yard right this very moment and this post wouldn't exist. But then again, everything happens for a reason.

Realtor Rule # 2 - a negotiable commission is always better than no commission.

Are you serious? You better tell me her name, so I will know not to ever consider her!
